Ad Hoc Committees as defined below are statutorily exempt (not subject to Brown Act).
To be exempt, the committee must be:
- Comprised only of 2 Board members
- Must be an advisory committee
- Must be a temporary committee, not a “Standing Committee”
- Must not have a continuing subject matter jurisdiction over a certain subject (such as budget)
- Must not have a fixed meeting schedule
