Historical Park Reservations
Please call (831)636-4170 for reservations (4 sections available). If you would like to reserve the entire park, please call for special procedures and fees.

- A user fee of $50.00, cash only applies for a maximum of 75 people at each shelter.
- No refund of $50 rental fee due to rain or cancellation of reservation.
- No live or amplified sound. Excessive noise at any time may be subject to arrest and/or citation as per Section 415(2) of the California Penal Code.
- Park closes at sunset. Permittee shall ensure that activities cease and everyone leaves the park.
- Trees, plants, soil, and shelter facilities are to be left clean and undamaged.
- Permittee must provide a generator for jumping houses. There is currently no electricity available at the Historical Park.
Organizations requesting a shelter for fundraising and/or open to public invitation must abide by the terms below and also provide liability insurance of no less than $1,000,000 and naming San Benito County as additional insured. Please call for details.

Veterans Memorial Park

Park Address: 1023 Memorial Drive
- A user fee of $75 and a deposit of $75 (per site, cash only) applies for a maximum of 100 people at each site.
- Cash, money order, or cashier’s check only for fee and deposit. Upon return of the key, Public Works will submit a Request for Refund to the County Auditor. A check will be mailed directly to the permittee within 14 days.
- No live or amplified sound (no radios). Excessive noise at any time may be subject to arrest and/or citation as per section 415(2) of the California Penal Code.
- Lights are turned off at 10:00 p.m. Permittee shall ensure that activities cease, the shelter area is cleaned, and everyone leaves the park.
- Trees, plants, soil, and shelter facilities are to be left clean and undamaged.
- No refund of $75.00 rental fee due to rain or cancellation of reservation.
- Key must be returned no later than Tuesday after the rental or will be subject to a $10.00 fee.
- Permittee must provide a generator for a jumping house. Inflatables are not to be plugged in to park outlets.
- Alcohol at Vet’s Park is allowed only in the group shelter areas.
Organizations requesting a shelter for fund raising and/or open to public invitation must abide by the above and provide liability insurance no less than $1,000,000.00 naming San Benito County as additional insured.

The Bertha Briggs Memorial Youth Center, also known as the Girl Scout House, is at 1221 Memorial Drive, across the street from the barbecue shelters at Veterans’ Memorial Park. This building is available to the public for private events subject to the following terms:
You are required to provide a Certificate of Insurance. The limit of liability must be a minimum of $1,000,000.00 (one million dollars). BOTH of the following agencies must be named as additional insured:
- County of San Benito
- Veterans’ Park Commission
Proof of insurance must be received prior to receiving the key.
Fee Schedule: Security, cleaning, and key deposit is $200.00. Rental fee is $225.00. Deposit must be received within 24 hours to reserve a date for your function. Your deposit and/or an itemized statement of the disposition of the deposit will be returned within 30 days. The rental fee and insurance must be submitted no later than 14 days prior to your scheduled event date to avoid cancellation of your event. It is the renter’s responsibility to be sure that the deposit, rental fee, and insurance are submitted to the Public Works Department by the appropriate due date(s).
In the event of cancellation by the renter, the entire security deposit will be refunded provided you have given written notice at least two weeks in advance of your event. If cancellation is less than two weeks you will lose your entire deposit. However, should another event be scheduled for that date after you have given notice, your security deposit will be refunded.
The user must pick up the key by 5:00pm on the Thursday before the reserved date at the San Benito County Works office at 2301 Technology Parkway, 2nd Floor. All fees must be paid, the contract must be signed, and a correct certificate of insurance must be received prior to receipt of the key. Prior to your use a County of San Benito Public Works representative has completed a walk-through. If upon receipt of the key and inspection of the property, you find any items or conditions out of order you must notify the County of San Benito Public Works Department immediately.
Renter must agree to use the facilities in a responsible manner, which includes consideration for people in the surrounding neighborhood. Loud music or noise must be controlled to avoid disturbance after 9:00pm. Failure to prevent offensive activities may result in loss of all or part of the security deposit if verified by an official police report. Any additional fees or losses over and above the security deposit that arise out of your activities shall be your responsibility.
The key is to be returned no later than 5:00pm on the Tuesday following your function.
All functions must be over by 11:00 p.m. Please be aware that there may be a police check as this is a City of Hollister curfew.
Any structural damage, missing equipment or damage of any type will be charged to the user at the cost of replacement. Any cleaning services needed exceeding the deposit amount will be charged to the user.
No tacks, nails, pins, staples or tape other than masking tape may be used for decorating. Damage caused by the use of inappropriate materials will be deducted from your security deposit.
Phone use is limited to local calls only. In the event that there are other charges, these charges will be billed to the user.
Garbage liners, toilet paper and paper towels are not provided. You should bring your own 32-gallon garbage can liners, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Tenant shall not exceed the maximum capacity limits as posted in the building.
