UNION ROAD REHABILITATION PROJECT UPDATE
SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — The County of San Benito is providing an update on the ongoing Union Road Rehabilitation Project, an important investment in improving roadway conditions, safety, and long-term infrastructure reliability.
Construction activities, which began on March 23, 2026, are continuing as planned and are anticipated to be completed by June 26, 2026, weather permitting.
Beginning April 13, 2026, the project will transition to active roadway rehabilitation, including grinding and overlay operations with Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) to improve the roadway surface and structural integrity. During this phase, the roadway surface will remain rough until final paving is completed, which is a normal part of the construction process.
Work will occur Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During construction, motorists and nearby residents should expect temporary impacts, including traffic delays, increased noise levels, and limited access in certain areas.
The County encourages all travelers to use caution when driving through the work zone, adhere to posted signage, and follow directions from construction personnel to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.
The County of San Benito remains committed to delivering infrastructure projects that enhance safety, mobility, and the community's quality of life.
